PORTLAND, Maine - The tree that signals the start of the holiday season in Portland will arrive in Monument Square on Thursday, November 20 around 10 am.
"After an exhaustive search of Greater Portland, we found the perfect tree. It will look spectacular when adorned with lights in Monument Square. Special thanks to Mikki Jones-Little and David Little of Brentwood Street for this year's tree donation," said Jeff Tarling, City Arborist.
Crews from the Forestry Section of Portland Department of Public Services will prepare the tree for transportation to Monument Squares starting at 9:00 AM from 140 Brentwood Street. Keely Crane Services and Shaw Brothers Construction have donated staff, crane and transportation services to make this project possible. Assistance is provided by the Portland Police and Portland Parking Control.
The tree will begin its trip from Brentwood Street to Stevens Avenue to Brighton Avenue to Bramhall Hill
