JUST IN: Tractor Trailer Roll Over in Gorham Closes Intersection

JUST IN: GORHAM, Maine - A tractor trailer carry 9,000 gallons of kerosene has flipped over at the intersection of Route 114 and Route 112 in Gorham. Motorists are advised to avoid this area completely. This intersection is closed to all traffic. Detour signs will guide travelers away from the scene.

Short statement from the DEP:

This afternoon a Noonan and Jewett tractor trailer loaded with an estimated 9000 gallons of kerosene has rolled over at the intersection of routes 114 and 112 in Gorham, this is a traffic circle. The truck is upside down and leaking. An unknown quantity of kerosene has been discharged and is continuing to leak. DEP is on site with additional Responders enroute. Three clean up contractors are also responding as is Noonan personnel. The product has flowed into a storm drain but is being contained by Public Works, however, there is substantial risk that the nearby stream will be impacted.
