Cushing, St. George and Warren were called to cover stations as mutual aid.

Currently the fire is under investigation by the Maine State Fire Marshals Office.

Here is what Rockland acting chief Adam had to say about the fire.

The fire was reported at 0813 hrs and was under control at about 0900. The rest of the time was spent
searching for extension and overhauling to ensure all the hot spots were gone.

The majority of personnel were release from the scene at 1015 hrs.

The fire is still under investigation and the State Fire Marshal’s Office is requesting a state electrical examiner. We call the Fire Marshal’s any time the cause is not obvious and their expertise and resources exceed ours. Their office and personnel’s primary mission is to investigate the origin and cause of fire, while that’s only one of the many duties of our personnel. This allows them to be investigate far more fires and develop much greater experience, thus they are experts available to us. This was the case on Sunday where the fire originated in a location where numerous potential ignition sources existed.

The fire departments did a wonderful job in getting this fire under control in a short period of time. However, the fire did heavy damage to the building.

RCN America Network will do an update on this article when cause of fire is determined.
