Thursday, June 19

“Pearl Harbor, 1941 – Did Roosevelt Know?” an illustrated lecture presented by Richard Cornelia, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.


Saturday, June 21

June Book Sale to benefit the Camden Public Library, 9:00 to 5:00, indoors at the library. The book sale will feature hardcover fiction books, plus history, biography, sailing, cooking, AV, and paperbacks. The book sale benefits the Camden Public Library and is run by volunteers.


Sunday, June 22

June Book Sale continues at the Camden Public Library, 1:00 to 4:30 pm. Sales benefit the library.


Tuesday, June 24

Movie “Animal Sapiens,” by Alvaro Mendoza, part of the Camden Philosophical Society’s Movie and Lecture Series, 7:00 at the Camden Public Library. Free, all are welcome. Key divisions between humans and other living beings have always been thought to be language, the use of tools, playing, and laughing; the movie undermines these theories.


Thursday, June 26

Author and photographer Helen Peppe will present her new book, Pigs Can’t Swim: A Memoir, an outrageous, hilarious, and touching memoir by the youngest of nine children in a hardscrabble, beyond-eccentric Maine family. Camden Public Library, 7:00 pm.


Saturday, June 28

“Closing reception” for Artist of the Month Lou Schellenberg, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Schellenberg’s paintings are large, brilliant oils of sunlit scenes from Pennsylvania, Maine, and Nova Scotia.


Tuesday, July 1

Opening reception for “Maine: Island Time” with artist Michael Weymouth and author Elizabeth Garber, 6:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. The paintings with accompanying poetry will be on display through the month of July.
