Sea Princesses First Practice

Sea Princesses First Practice
By: David Mills

ROCKLAND, ME - On Monday July 18th, the 2011 Sea Princesses had their first practice at Rockland District High School. Practice involved walking slowly coming on stage and to the runway. The runway is where each sea princess walks out to the end, wave to the crowd. Each girl was asked a question by the judges to get them ready for the questions they may hear farther along in their journey to coronation night.

Sharon showed the girls how to walk by leading with their right foot. She also mentioned that it is important to walk slow, to keep balance.

The girls did a great job at their first practice as there are new things to learn before coronation. Being a sea princess is a learning process as you need to learn how to walk, answering questions, your community, lobstering and more.

I look forward to being there along their journey to give you all an idea what these girls go through.

Now, please enjoy some photographs from the girls first Sea Princesses practice at Rockland District High School.
