PORTLAND, Maine -- The City Clerk’s Office is alerting Portland residents that nomination papers are now available for several seats that are open for the November 2, 2021 Election. The deadline to return is no sooner than August 9, 2021 at 9:00 PM and no later than August 23, 2021 at 4:30 PM.
The following seats are available:
City Council District One 1 seat
City Council District Two 1 seat
City Council At-Large 1 seat
School Board District One 1 seat
School Board District Two 1 seat
School Board At-Large 1 seat
Peaks Island 2 seats (3yr. term)
Water District Trustee 1 seat (5yr. term)
Papers can be taken out in the City Clerk's Office, which is located in Room 24, basement level of City Hall. The public must use the Myrtle Street Entrance to gain access. Masks are required to enter the building.
Signatures required:
Council/School Districts 75 min / 150 max
At Large for Council/School 300 min / 500 max
Peaks Island 50 min / 100 max
Water District Trustee 100 min / 150 max
