Rockland Public Library--- Autumn Tree Walk on October 16 at 10:30 AM

Rockland, Maine - Richard Schneller will lead Rockland Public Library's Wednesday Walkers in a special Autumn tree walk on Wednesday, October 16 at 10:30 AM.

An autumn tree walk is desirable not only for enjoying the wonderful fall foliage that New Englanders know and love, but it's a good time to observe trees transitioning into their winter dormancy. Learning to recognize aspects of the twigs, buds, and fruit, is an important part of knowing the identity of trees.

Richard Schneller, after many years of enthusiasm for trees, became a licensed arborist in 2001  and worked in tree care for about 12 years. He currently serves as Rockland's Tree Warden.

All are welcome to join the free walk, which will start promptly at 10:30. Participants will meet at the checkout desk and are required to sign a waiver form. For more information, call the Library at 594-0310.
