-"On the Basis of Sex"- (Tuesday, May 21st at 7:30 pm and a special matinee closed-captioned encore screening on Wednesday, May 22nd at 1 pm) The film tells an inspiring and spirited true story that follows young lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsburg as she teams with her husband Marty to bring a groundbreaking case before the U.S. Court of Appeals and overturn a century of gender discrimination. - "Green Book"- (Tuesday, May 28th at 7:30 pm and a special matinee closed-captioned encore screening on Wednesday, May 29th at 1 pm) This year’s Best Picture Oscar winner tells the story of when Tony Lip (Viggo Mortensen), a bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx, is hired to drive Dr. Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali, who won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance), a world-class Black pianist, on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South, they must rely on "The Green Book" to guide them to the few establishments that were then safe for African-Americans.
