Rockland Public Library: Destination Wellness Talk on Tuesday, October 24 at 6:30 PM

GET ACTION: Youth sports can change the world.  Who knew?
Rockland, Maine - Destination Wellness Midcoast Maine and the Rockland Public Library will co-sponsor a talk by Jesse Simko, “GET ACTION: Youth sports can change the world. Who knew?”, in the Library’s Community Room on Tuesday, October 24 at 6:30 PM.

Kids love to move, and Jesse Simko, Arena Director at The Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport, is on a mission to help them learn valuable life lessons while they do it.  He believes that engaging children in physical activity is a key to their health and wellness.

Come hear Jesse discuss the importance of play and how he and the other instructors at the MRC teach physical literacy in fun ways.  Kids who play together can build relationships, overcome obstacles, and become part of a community that is trying its hardest to succeed.  As Teddy Roosevelt said,  “Get Action. Do things; don’t fritter away your time; create, act, take a place wherever you are and be somebody; get action.”

Rockland Public Library is located at 80 Union St. in Rockland. This event is free and open to the public. FMI: 594-0310.
