Rockland, Maine - Recording artists SETH GLIER and the JASON SPOONER BAND will appear as a double bill at the Strand Theatre, 345 Main Street, on April 11 at 7:30pm.
Singer/songwriter/pianist/guitarist SETH GLIER is a seasoned troubadour known for his passionate live sets of Americana, folk, blues, pop and soul. Averaging over 250 live performances annually he has played major folk festivals and shared the stage with artists as diverse as James Taylor, Ani DiFranco, Martin Sexton, Emmylou Harris and Ryan Adams. The young songwriter has scored a Grammy nomination by weaving tales of love, pain and self-realization wrapped in sweeping melodies and striking vocals. GLIER will release his fourth album, "If I Could Change One Thing" in April.
GLIER has been an advocate for Musicians On Call and a national spokesperson for ChildFund International, helping over 200 children find sponsors. He participated in the 2012 ROCK THE VOTE Road Trip, and took home Best Social Action Song for his track “The Next Right Thing” at the 11th Annual Independent Music Awards, his second IMA win. For his 2013 “Things I Should Let You Know Release” tour, he teamed up with Autism Speaks and raised over $5,000 for the not-for-profit organization.
New England’s own JASON SPOONER BAND (Jason Spooner - guitar & vocals, Reed Chambers - Drums & Percussion and Adam Frederick - Bass & vocals, Warren Mcpherson - Keyboards & vocals) stands out with a signature sound that appeals to a wide range of audiences, seamlessly blending a variety of musical influences and flavors into a cohesive, energetic and listenable experience. Roots Rock, Americana, blues, folk and groove-oriented jazz, with some elements of reggae and soul are blended together and supported by strong musicianship and intelligent songwriting. The JASON SPOONER BAND has appeared at numerous folk festivals across the country, and has performed with acts as varied as B.B. King, John Mayer, Jackson Browne, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Ray LaMontagne, Susan Tedeschi, Jackie Greene, G. Love, Guster, Blues Traveler, Peter Rowan and Sara Bareilles.; at at folk festivals across the country. The band recently released their fourth album “chemical” after spending much of the winter recording at HEARSTUDIOS in Camden, Maine.
