Mayor Brennan Convenes First Minimum Wage Advisory Committee Meeting

Portland, Maine - Mayor Michael Brennan announced today that he will convene the first meeting to examine the implementation of a minimum wage in Portland. On Thursday, March 20, Mayor Brennan will discuss this issue with a host of interested stakeholders. Anna Eleanor Roosevelt, president & CEO of Goodwill Industries of Northern New England, will co-chair the advisory group with the Mayor.

The meeting, which will be the first of several meetings on this topic, follows Mayor Brennan’s remarks during his State of the City address in January where he called for a community wide discussion on increasing the minimum wage due to income disparity within Portland’s communities.
