Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Show Takes Center Stage

Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Show Takes Center Stage
By: David Mills

ROCKLAND, ME - The annual Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors show took center stage in Rockland's Harbor Park from August 12th to thee 14th. This show has lots of boats for people to see and to actually have a closer look. My report is more pictorial as photographs is a great way to see what actually took place.

During the annual Boatyard World Championship Dog trials Joel Neal with his dog Fenway won first place with a great routine that wowed the crowd. All the dogs this year and their owners did a great job.

Some of the events this year included the Rockland Community Sailing program, dog trials as mentioned above and demos.

People were able to enjoy music from such bands as Blue Northern (Bluegrass), UMaine of Machias Ukulele club and Run of the Mill (Early American), just to name a few. There was demonstrations like Handspinning, Owl Stool Assembly and Spinnaker Rigging, just to name a few of the demonstrations going on during the three day boat show. Visitors had beautiful weather Friday and Saturday with Sunday having some rain filling the sky from time to time. Of course there was food, vendors from housewares to art work, just to name a few of the things offered for visitors to enjoy.

Finally, please join me in a flashback of photographs to this years Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors show in Rockland, Maine, 1 1/2 hours north of Portland.
