64th Annual Maine Lobster Festival Taken Shape

64th Annual Maine Lobster Festival Taken Shape
By: David Mills

ROCKLAND, ME - Workers from Haskell to Smokey's Greater Shows have been hard at work getting things ready for opening day. Haskell started to set up the tents for this year's festival on Wednesday, July 27th that will be used for Art, Commercial, Marine, Main Eating Tent and Made In Maine, naming just a few.

By Sunday Smokey's Greater Shows were arriving with rides that started to get set up in the afternoon such as the Ferris Wheels. These rides this year will be fun for all ages to enjoy. On Monday the rides were really taken shape with most of them all set up. Some of the rides this year are two Ferries wheels, the Zipper, Tilt a whirl, Super Slide and Air Time, just to name a few.

Also, workers on Monday and Tuesday were hard at work getting the finishing touches done. Webber on Monday were getting the Lobster Cooker ready, food vendor booths and the Main Eating Tent. A crew from BC Electric were working on getting the power and sound working for opening day. Tuesday was pretty much filled with lots of work from games to food vendors arriving. Volunteers were hard at work getting tents  to the grounds ready for opening day on Wednesday.

Please enjoy the following photographs of the 64th Maine Lobster Festival taken shape in Harbor Park. This year's festival runs from the 3rd to the 7th of August with great food, musicians, goods vendors and more fun for the whole family to enjoy.
