Timberwind Relaunched May 9th, 2011
By: David Mills

ROCKLAND, ME - On Monday afternoon the Schooner Timberwind was relaunched at Northend Shipyard. Timberwind was hauled out around a week or soon ago for Spring maintenance and to get inspected. The maintenance work included washing down, scraping, sanding and painting the whole Schooner. After all the hard work of haul out maintenance she is now getting closer to being ready for the 2011 sailing season. She is home ported in Rockport, Maine where her sailing trips begin throughout the summer months. Guests well abroad can relax by seeing the wildlife, islands that dot the Maine coast, ligthouses, meeting the other guests and much more. As a windjammer the only source of power is the sails that are filled with wind to move her along the beautiful coast of Maine. Yarl boat power helps when the winds have calmed down. More great information on the Timberwind can be found at www.schoonertimberwind.com.
