Issac H. Evan Readies For 2011 Sailing Season

ROCKLAND, ME - At North End Shipyard the Schooner Issac H. Evans was next to be hauled out for Spring Maintenance and get inspected. She was hauled out on Monday afternoon May 9, 2011. While out of the water she under went washing down, scraping, painting above and below waterline.





 




Evans was out of the water for about 3 days before being relaunch well she will get her sails put on and top mast. The relaunching took 10 to 20 minutes to be set back in the water. Haul out and relaunching is put of the process of getting these historic windjammers ready for their sailing season.





























































Schooner Issac H. Evans sailing out of Rockland, Maine on a few nights to week long trips. She is the only windjammer that is welcomes children as young as 6 years of age. Evans is a member of the Maine Windjammer Association along with 12 other windjammers ranging in size from 46 feet to 132 feet.
