No-Cost CNA Training Program Holding Orientation at Augusta CareerCenter on January 16

Augusta, Maine - Maine citizens who have lost their job through no fault of their own and who have been out of work for six months or more may qualify for a new, no-cost training program being offered through the Augusta CareerCenter and MaineGeneral Health. The Ready2Work pilot program facilitates customized, on-the-job training that, upon successful completion, could lead to employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

"I encourage people who have been out of work to explore these training opportunities," said Governor Paul R. LePage. "You may qualify for a program that can train you for a new career at little or no cost to you, and this particular program pays you while you train. Some of our training programs are more hands-on, while others incorporate classes with on-site training, so it is worth a conversation to find out what programs fit your skills, interests and learning styles. We want all of Maine's citizens to have a good-paying career with a future."
