“Marley was dead.” With those chilling words, one of the greatest pieces of Holiday literature begins. And now, fast on the heels of the other Grand productions made under Executive Director Nick Turner's tenure (Thornton Wilder's Our Town, It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play and A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline) A Musical Christmas Carol features some of the best local talent as it presents an all-ages-appropriate entertaining and moving journey through the Dickens classic, bringing to life onstage your favorite characters from the classic holiday story true to the classic story with some twists! The cast includes Grand veteran performers and newcomers: Jim Pendergist, Abby Foster, John Hamer, Ashley Terwilliger, Amelia Ashmore, Victoria Foster, Jonah Uphouse, Bronwyn Wachter, Evangeline Meister, Mary Miller, Nora Schroeder, Sam Foster, Bill Foster, Blane Shaw, Muneer Hasham, Mark Chandler, Nicole Cardano, Jarod Smith, Kelly McKenney, Anna Hanson, Savannah Hasham, Heather Brenner-Simpson, Ben Chandler, Monica Cease, Rachel Kohrman Ramos, Harper Turner, Noelle Hanson, Savanna Corson, Brooke Downing, Walter Foster, Ben McKenney, Hunter Shorey, Qohl Hanson, Bailey Clayton, Elora Terwilliger, Zoey Hamer, Mabel Minner-Eastman, Isla Uphouse, Rein Hanson, Gavin Uphouse, Lauren Billings, Brady Kelly, Nicholas Hansen, Sarah Domareki and Rose Kazmierczak.

In addition, The Grand is fortunate to be both sponsored by- and a host to- Seaboard Federal Credit Union's “Sock in a Box” charity campaign, and will be helping Seaboard collect new socks again this year for The Bangor Homeless Shelter, The Shaw House in Bangor and the Emmaus Center in Ellsworth. So pass the word and make a new holiday tradition to stop by The Grand in Ellsworth to see a live performance of A Musical Christmas Carol and drop off a new pair of socks; a simple pair of new socks for someone less fortunate can make it easier to face Maine’s cold winter days. Seaboard Federal Credit Union would like to remind you “Warm feet are happy feet and who doesn’t like a pair of new socks?”
