Wind Advisory Issued For State of Maine Friday

Rockland, Maine - National Weather Service out of Gray and Caribou have issued a wind advisory for the whole state of Maine tomorrow, Friday, November 10th, 2017.

National Weather Service of Gray and Caribou Statements:

...Windy and cold on Friday...

.A strong cold front will move across Maine and New Hampshire late
tonight. Westerly winds will increase and become strong as the
front passes. While true wind advisory criteria may only be met
briefly and locally, there are many partially broken trees and
branches in precarious positions near roadways and other areas
that could easily be knocked down by wind gusts around 40 MPH.
Scattered power outages are expected. Therefore, a wind advisory
is in effect for Friday.

The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a Wind Advisory,
which is in effect from 4 AM to 8 PM EST Friday.

* Winds...West 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* Timing...Early Friday morning through early Friday evening.

* Impacts...Downed trees and branches as well as scattered power
  outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph...or
wind gusts 46 to 57 mph...are expected. Winds this strong can make
driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.
