Colby sophomore Sandra Schoepke (Stowe, Vt.) and first-year Rosie
Hust (Long Lake, Minn.) helped out. Schoepke did the second run in
Saturday's giant slalom and the second run of Sunday's slalom, while
Hust did both runs of Sunday's slalom in front of 10,000 fans.
Forerunners are non-competing skiers who ski the course before the
event starts. The forerunners set the line, allow officials to set their
systems, and can provide course condition information to officials.
The races at Killington went so well last year that the resort will
host the World Cup event through 2018. Colby four-time All-American
Mardi Haskell and sophomore Jessica Reinhart were forerunners at the
event last year.
Micaela Shiffrin of the United States won the slalom for the second straight year and took second in the giant slalom.
