Sea Princesses 2017 Visit 250 Main Hotel

Rockland, Maine - The 2017 Sea Princesses had the opportunity to visit, enjoy 250 Main Hotel roof deck with views of Rockland harbor, Maine Lobster Festival grounds before Coronation dinner and Coronation on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017.

General manager Ruth Woodbury Starr was a judge for the coronation.

Rockland, Maine - Trackside Station Restaurant hosted the 2017 Sea Goddess Coronation on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 in Rockland, Maine.

It was a great time. 2016 Miss Congeniality Peyton Elise Feener, Crown Princess Winona Faye Harvey of Waldoboro, Sea Goddess Adrianna Elaine Ames of North Haven, 2017 Sea Princesses, escorts, King Neptune, Leaders from Coast Guard, Navy, Mayor of Rockland Will Clayton, Sea Goddess Coronation Committee members were all in attendance.

Those at the dinner had three dish options to chose, which all liked good.

Thank you to Mike and Kelly Woods for hosting this lovely dinner for all who attended as the food was fabulous.

Local Teams Of First Responders To Complete In 70TH Maine Lobster Festival Crate Race Throwdowns

Rockland, Maine - One of the most popular events at the Maine Lobster Festival every year is the International Great Crate Race. Contestants must run across a line of 50 lobster crates that are strung between the two piers in Rockland Harbor. It’s harder than it looks, and almost no one escapes a chilly dip into the harbor in front of a crowd of hundreds festival goers.

This year fans of the popular event will get to witness the inaugural Crate Race Throwdown event between local First Responder organizations on Sunday, August 6 at 1:30 p.m. Teams of three will run the crates and end up with a combined team score. The team with the highest score will win a donation to their department. Costumes, shenanigans, and bribery of the judges are not only allowed, but encouraged. Judges will be able to award up to 10 style points to each team to boost their scores. The judges for this event will be Frank Isganitis, Inn Keeper at the Limerock Inn, Mark Tibbets, Assistant Harbormaster for the City of Rockland, and Gordon Page, Director of Rockland Main Street.

Competing will be a team from Rockland Fire & EMS, a team from Thomaston Fire & EMS, three teams from the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Rockland, two teams from the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Thunder Bay, and two teams from the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Tackle.

The traditional International Great Crate Race will take place Sunday, August 6 at 2 p.m. Registration for that event will begin Sunday, August 6 at 7 a.m. Spots fill up quickly, we recommend interested runners arrive at 5 a.m. to secure their spot. Rockland, Maine- The 70th Maine Lobster Festival opens tomorrow, Wednesday Aug. 2nd, and in celebration of the 70th year of the festival all adult admission will be just $1.00 all day!  This price also includes the evening and the Maine Sea Goddess Coronation at 8 PM.

Opening ceremonies will take place next to the flagpole by the Harbor Master’s building.

Come see the coronation of the 70th Maine Lobster Festival Sea Goddess! Festivities begin at 8 p.m. with music and the introduction of the Sea Princesses. The winner receives a cash prize and the title of The Maine Lobster Festival Sea Goddess with a lovely crown. She reigns at many events throughout the year, culminating with the start of the 2018 Lobster Festival. Also crowned is the Crown Princess and Miss Congeniality.
