The Gracie to Air Documentary About The Central Park Five

Bangor, Maine - The Gracie Theatre at Husson University will screen the documentary film “The Central Park Five” on March 27 at 7:00 p.m.  Admission is free and open to the public.

“The Central Park Five” describes the brutal attack and rape on a white female jogger in Central Park, and the subsequent media swarm that resulted in the imprisonment of five black and Latino youths for crimes that, as it turned out years later, they had nothing to do with. The case transfixed the city of New York and the nation.

The film tells the story of the five youths (labeled by the media as a “wolf pack”); their efforts to prove their innocence against the entrenched bias of the public, the prosecutors and the NYPD; and the efforts to clear their names for a crime they didn’t commit.
