MCHP awards student honors‏

Lewiston, Maine - Nursing graduates, friends, and family gathered with nursing faculty from the Maine College of Health Professions (MCHP) to celebrate the achievements of 42 nursing graduates recently in a pinning ceremony at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston.  The pinning ceremony is a time-honored tradition of the symbolic welcoming of the nurse graduates into the profession of nursing.

Faculty Betty Davis provided words of welcome to the guests.  The nursing faculty presented the inspirational poem “I am a nurse”.  Susan Baltrus, past president of the MCHP and a member of the Maine State Board of Nursing led the nurse graduates and all RNs in the Nurse’s Pledge.  In recognition of qualities of caring and excellence in nursing, a number of nurse graduates received individual awards during the ceremony.

Maine College of Health Professions graduates 64 students‏

Lewiston, Maine - The Maine College of Health Professions (MCHP), formerly CMMC College of Nursing and Health Professions, graduated 2 Nuclear Medicine Technology, 42 Nursing and 20 Radiologic Technology students May 2, 2015 in a ceremony at the Lewiston Middle School.

Having successfully completed the College’s education programs, the graduates were awarded Associate Degrees in the Applied Science of Nuclear Medicine Technology, Nursing or Radiologic Technology. A number of graduating students received awards during the ceremony.

Graduates, friends, and family gathered with faculty, staff, administration, and honored dignitaries to celebrate commencement. MCHP Senior Director Otis Vance welcomed the guests: Marsha Auster, Chair, MCHP Board of Trustees; Mark Adams, CMMC Board of Trustees, and President/CEO of Sebago Technics; and John Jenkins, Founder/President: Jenkins Technique and Creator/Presenter: SAFE Plan, PepTalk.com. Sister Therese Demers, Assistant Chaplain of Pastoral Care at CMMC, offered the Invocation and Benediction. Phil House was pianist.
