Portland Public Library Presents a Magic show: Peter Boie – Magic for Non-believers

Portland, Maine - Peter first became fascinated with magic at the age of eleven when he stumbled across a magic book at his local library.  He now travels around the country performing his award winning magic that will defy your reality.  Peter's show is about two things, astonishing magic, and having a good time; and he doesn't skimp on either.  You might recognize him by his trademark orange sneakers, or from the group of people around him freaking out at his magic and having a good time.  The title Magician for Non-Believers is about being honest with his audience.  Magic isn’t real... but Peter will make you believe it is for the length of his show.  Combining original mind blowing magic, and a heavy dose of humor is his secret to success and why it’s made him one of the top booked college acts around the country.

He has performed for such celebrities as legendary musician Neil Young, quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots football team and ownership.

Who is his show for?  Everyone.  Really.  He is at home in front of audiences that range in age from 4-104.  The performance is 45-50 minutes and is a true family show.  From kids to teens, parents and grandparents, everyone will enjoy the show.

Portland, Maine - See the show audiences are calling “Superb!”, “A blast!”, and “Heartwarming fun for the whole family.” Join magician and juggler Scott Jameson on Wednesday, April 23rd at 2:30pm in the Rines Auditorium at the Portland Public Library for an extraordinary performance that will have you laughing out loud and perched on the very edge of your seat. Umbrellas will be plucked from thin air, a drawing will come to life, basketballs will be spun and juggled, and a member of the audience will unlock telekinetic abilities.

At age eight, with the help of a stack of library books, Scott taught himself how to juggle and perform countless magic tricks. In high school he participated in the theater program and competed in the dramatic speaking league.


While attending workshops in comedy, mime, movement, improvisation, dance, etc. at Maine’s Celebration Barn Theatre Scott discovered that the usual notion of what a “magic show” was could be replaced with something far more creative and compelling. In 1998 he began his full-time career in solo variety theatre and currently travels throughout the Northeast presenting programs for audiences large and small.
