Johnny Winter Tribute Is Planned For Maine Lobster Festival

Rockland, Maine - The Rock N Blues Fest concert with Johnny Winter at the Maine Lobster Festival is a go as it will now be a tribute to him according to the festival.

Maine Lobster Festival statement reads;

The Maine Lobster Festival is deeply sorry to hear of Johnny Winter’s passing and sends best wishes to his family and bandmates. Johnny Winter was one of the world’s greatest guitarists, and we were looking forward to having him along with the rest of the Rock N’ Blues Fest – The Edgar Winter Band, Vanilla Fudge, Peter Rivera of Rare Earth and Savoy Brown’s Kim Simmonds at our event Saturday night.

The good news is that the Rock N’ Blues Fest tour will go on as a Tribute to Johnny Winter – and it is certain to be an amazing show. Watch for an announcement about a star guitarist possibly being added to the show. We’ll update our web site and social media as soon as we can.

Johnny Winter passed away in his hotel room in Zurich, Switzerland on July 16th.

Please plan on attending this concert that is now a tribute to the rock/blues icon Johnny Winter. Concert will take place on Saturday, August 2nd, 2014 at  7:30pm in Rockland, Maine.

DEVELOPING: Texas blues icon Johnny Winter has passed away on July 16, 2014 in his hotel room in Zurich, Switzerland.


His wife, family and bandmates are all saddened by the loss of their loved one and one of the world's finest guitarists.


An official statement with more details shall be issued at the appropriate time.


Johnny Winter was scheduled to perform at the 67th Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland, Maine.


The Maine Lobster Festival posted this via their Facebook page. "We were saddened to hear the news of Johnny Winter's passing this morning. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends, and band during this difficult time."

Blues-rock legend Johnny Winter to headline Lobster Festival

Rockland, Maine - It has been announced that Johnny Writer will be performing at the annual Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland, Maine's harbor park.

Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Vanilla Fudge, Peter Rivera Music, and Savoy Brown's Kim Simmonds will be the all-star cast on Saturday, August 2nd at the Maine Lobster Festival. The show gets underway at 7:30pm and tickets are just $30.00, including Festival admission.

The Maine Lobster Festival is held  July 30 - August 3, 2014.
