| Trekkers’ Team Allagash participates in Midcoast Habitat for Humanity community service project |
Leaving on Friday, October 17, the fifteen students and seven leaders boarded the Trekkers bus and headed to Camp Kieve in Nobleboro, which served as their home base for the two night expedition. After completing their first team food shopping experience, they spent the rest of the day raking leaves around the Camp Kieve grounds.
On day two, the team ventured to Monkey C Monkey Do in Wiscasset for a ropes course, zip line and giant swing challenge, followed by volunteering at Midcoast Habitat for Humanity in Rockport in the late afternoon. On the final day of the expedition, the 8th graders played teambuilding games and spent time learning Trekkers’ consensus-making decision process. Team Allagash ended their weekend trek by apple picking at County Fair Farm in Jefferson.
