Senator Collins & Other Lead Negotiators of Historic Infrastructure Package Release Joint Statement on Passage of Landmark Bill

The $1 trillion infrastructure investment—which Senator Collins negotiated with 9 of her colleagues—passed the Senate today by a vote of 69-30

Washington, D.C. — The 10 lead negotiators of the bipartisan infrastructure package—U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Rob Portman (R-OH), Bill Cassidy (R-LA),  Joe Manchin (D-WV), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Jon Tester (D-MT), and Mark Warner (D-VA)—issued the following statement after the U.S. Senate voted to approve the Infrastructure Investment

and Jobs Act by a bipartisan vote of 69-30. The legislation represents the most significant investment in American infrastructure since the establishment of the Interstate Highway System in the 1950s.

 

“This vote is a historic victory for the American people. The bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will modernize and upgrade our roads, bridges, ports, and other key infrastructure assets. In doing so, this landmark piece of legislation will create jobs, increase productivity, and pave the way for decades of economic growth and prosperity – all without raising taxes on everyday Americans or increasing inflation.
