Bangor, Maine - Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) has been
recognized by RegisteredNursing.org, a nursing advocacy organization, as the #1 registered
nursing program in Maine. (https://www.registerednursing.org/state/maine/#rankings)
Nursing programs were assessed on several factors which represent how well a program
supports students towards licensure and beyond. They also analyzed past and present first time
NCLEX-RN pass rates weighted by year. Through this analysis it was found that EMCC had the
best statistics in all of Maine. To read more about the criteria and methodology used visit:

Pilar Burmeister, Director of the Nursing Program, says “I am most proud of my students, both in
the program and alumni, because they leave EMCC and reflect positively on the program
through their professionalism and dedication to caring for their patients. The foundation the
program provides to our students gives them the confidence and skills to provide the highest
level of nursing care. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than receiving positive feedback from
the community and employers about our alumni.”
She goes on to say that this news has given her, and the other nursing faculty and staff, a
tremendous sense of pride, knowing that their hardwork and dedication to their students is
paying off.
