Rockland Library/Poetry Month Rockland Contest Open

Rockland Public Library and Poetry Month Rockland are pleased to announce the opening of the annual Poetry Month Contest- Away From Home!

Rockland, Maine - It’s a big world; it’s a small world. Where in this world do you want to go? Why? For this year’s Poetry Contest we would like you to write about being away. Your poem can be about someone from away, a special place you have gone, or the place you most want to visit. Your poem’s limit is world-wide. Take us on your journey.

There are 4 categories for contest entrants: Child 1- PreK to 3rd grade, Child 2- grades 4 to 7, Teen- grades 8 to 12, Adult-  ages 19 and up. Poems should be limited to one sheet of paper, typed, 12 point font. Child 1 and 2 need not be typed but should be no more than one page. Please provide two copies of your poem, one with name, address, phone or email on the back, one with no identifying information. Please mail, email or drop off to Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St., Rockland, ME 04841, by Friday April 7th for adults and Friday, April 14th for all student categories.
