Following solid waste collection, plow crews will perform additional snow removal efforts to widen streets
Portland, Maine - The City of Portland is posting a number of Munjoy Hill streets with temporary no parking signs for tomorrow (February 4, 2015) from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM to accommodate solid waste collection trucks as they make their rounds for those with a Wednesday collection day. Because of the amount of snow in place, these streets are currently too narrow for the solid waste truck to traverse with cars parked on the street.
Following solid waste collection, City plow crews will utilize the remaining parking restriction time period to perform additional snow removal efforts in order to widen the streets. Snow will be hauled to Cutter Street and the Eastern Prom slope area. Tall snow banks and narrow streets are causing safety concerns for both pedestrians and motorists.
Alternative parking during this time period can be found on the Eastern Promenade.
The follow streets are included in this temporary no parking from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM on
