ROCKLAND, MAINE HOLDS NEW ENGLAND’S LARGEST PIE TOUR TO RAISE MONEY FOR FOOD INSUFFICIENT MIDCOAST MAINERS & CELEBRATE NATIONAL PIE DAY
13th Annual Pies on Parade Pie Tour features sweet and savory pies to help raise important funds for the AIO Food Pantry. Tickets on sale starting Nov 26th.
Rockland, Maine – Rockland, dubbed “Pie Town USA” by the Food Network, is living up to its name as planning is underway for the 13th annual pie-a-thon to celebrate National Pie Day (National Pie Day is celebrated each year on Jan 23rd). The town of Rockland, ME will go pie-crazy on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 1:00 – 4:00pm when theHistoric Inns of Rockland are joined by as many as 20+ additional Rockland, ME businesses and restaurants to welcome hungry pie eaters to the town for the 13th Annual Pies on Parade Pie Tour. Hungry pie lovers will sample more than 50 different pies at over 25 businesses, restaurants and inns throughout Rockland.
Tickets sell out quickly, and the best way to get yours is through Pies on Parade lodging packages offered by the three Historic Inns of Rockland (Berry Manor Inn, LimeRock Inn and Granite Inn) including guaranteed tickets, special extras like wine and pie pairings, special pie concerts and receptions, admittance to a Silent Auction and pie celebration on Saturday evening and two personal pies awaiting your arrival. Day tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children ten and under and all funds from tickets sales go directly to the local food pantry. Tickets are available from participating inns (not additional participating Rockland businesses) starting November 26, 2016 by calling 207-596-6611 to reserve ahead.
