Big night for Chatham in a 4-2 win at Richmond
Portland seeks the series sweep on Thursday night!
Richmond, Va. - Brett Netzer blasted a home run to back another quality start from Daniel McGrath (3-0), as the Portland Sea Dogs (19-21, 46-61) beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels (16-23, 39-67), 4-2 Wednesday night at The Diamond.

Portland found more second inning magic against Richmond when losing pitcher Caleb Baragar (3-4, 3.80) surrendered a two-run home run to Brett Netzer to crack open the board, 2-0.

The Flying Squirrels cut the lead in half with a home run by Zach Houchins in the third inning. It was
the first earned run issued by McGrath in 48.1 innings pitched.

Austin Rei led-off the fifth inning with a double and extended Portland's lead 3-1 as he came around to score on a C.J. Chatham triple.

McGrath finished his evening after striking out seven through six innings, surrendering just the lone home run to Houchins.

Richmond pushed back again in the seventh inning, loading the bases after one single and two walks when Jacob Heyward drew a base on balls to push home another run and dig back into the deficit, 3-2.

Jeremy Rivera sparked the ninth with a triple and scored on a wild pitch from Ryan Halstead for 4-2 insurance.

Kevin Lenik closed the door on Richmond with two strikeouts to collect his third save en route to a 4-2 win.
