(Rockland, Maine) In Rockland on a cold and mostly cloudy Saturday afternoon the Maine Eastern Railroad train arrived at the station apart of Coats/Toys for kids drive. Before arriving in Rockland the train made stops in Brunswick and Bath, Maine for people to donate coats and toys for kids in need this Christmas/Winter season. The train arrived in Rockland around 12:05pm for people to make donations of coats and toys for kids in need. Amongst those on the train were Dan Carrigan from WCSH6 News out of Portland, Maine, his cat Togus and wife to cover this great cause in the Mid-Coast area. When the train arrived at the Rockland station people had the chance to see Togus the cat and to make their donations. People started to arrive early to see Togus and to make their donations. Donations were made inside the train station then you could see Togus by going on the train. You could also of seen Togus first, then make your donations. There was a great crowed waiting for the train to see Togus as well as to make their donations. Coats are a priceless item to give to a Child in need as they keep them warm during the Winter months. It is great to see people given to a great cause like this as the reward is knowing you have helped a Child to stay warm this winter. Another valuable thing to do during this Holiday season is to donate a new unwrapped toy for a Child in need. Christmas is a most memorable time of year as you can spend it with your family, friends and possibly your four legged friends. Given a gift is a way to show someone how much they mean to you. This is more so if you know a child in need as they may have parents just trying to make it by, and just need the extra help, so their child can have a great Christmas.
Among those given were members of my Moms side of the family. It was great to have the chance to see them again for this great cause.
Please enjoy the following photographs from this Coats & Toys drive in Rockland, Maine.
This great cause of Coats & Toys for kids is put on by the Salvation Army.
