BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Adam LaBrie scored in the first half, and the Thomas College Terriers added a pair of insurance goals after intermission on their way to a 3-0 non-conference men's soccer victory over the University of New England Thursday evening (Sept. 22) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

With their third consecutive victory, the Terriers improved to 3-2-1, while the Nor'easters fell to 1-3-4.

LaBrie got Thomas on the board in the 17th minute, pushing home a low crossing pass from the left side by Willie Clemons. The Terrriers would double their lead in the 71st minute on a tally similar to LaBrie's in the first frame. This time Josh Emard was the recipient of a feed from the corner by London Steede-Jackson. Emard's one-timer into the back of the net was good for his fourth marker of the season. DJ Nicholas completed the scoring six minutes later, converting a pass from Tevin Reid. Steede-Jackson started the play and was credited with a secondary assist.

Goalkeeper Drew Martin came up with three saves to earn the shutout. He denied a blast from UNE co-captain Erik Holmqvist off a Nor'easter corner kick early in the second half to help preserve the shutout. Earlier in the first stanza, UNE had nearly tied the match at 1-1, but a header by Nick Paine was cleared away from the goal line by a Terrier defender.

Nate Delesdernier had nine saves for the Nor'easters, who host Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday (3:30 p.m.).

Next up for Thomas is road match at Husson University on Sept. 27.
