Martin and Terriers Blank Nor'easters 3-0

BIDDEFORD, ME – The Thomas College men's soccer team shutout the University of New England, 3-0, in a non-conference contest on Thursday night.

The Terriers earned their third straight victory as they improve to 3-2-1 (2-0 NAC) while the Nor'easters fall to 1-3-4.  Senior captain London Steede-Jackson (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda / Cedarbridge Academy) led the Thomas offense with two assists.

Sophomore Adam LaBrie (Yarmouth, Maine / Yarmouth) opened the scoring for the Terriers in the
17th minute as he scored on a one-time pass from Willie Clemons (Paget, Bermuda / Warwick Academy) in the left corner for his second goal of the season.  Thomas entered the half with a 1-0 lead while they outshot the Nor'easters 10-7.

The Terriers added an insurance goal at the 71st minute as Josh Emard (Lebanon, Maine / Noble) fired in a one-time shot in front of the New England net from Steede-Jackson.  Five minutes after, DJ Nicholas (Portland, Maine / North Yarmouth Academy) converted on a crossing pass from Tevin Reid (Dorchester, Mass. / Bunker Hill) to finish the scoring at 3-0.

Drew Martin (Berwick, Maine / SMCC) earned his first career win in goal as Terrier in a three-save shutout while Nate Delesdernier made nine saves in goal for the Nor'easters.  Thomas outshot New England 18-11 throughout the match.

The Terriers will return to North Atlantic Conference play on Tuesday, September 27, as they travel to Husson for a 7:30 p.m. game.
