ROCKLAND, Maine - The Knox County Regional Microloan fund program has approved a loan that will assist in the expansion of Dream Local Digital on Main Street in Rockland.
Dream Local Digital was awarded at $25,000 loan to assist in their further expansion at their current site at 463 Main Street. The loan proceeds will help design and build out additional space in their building that was originally built in 1924 by Everett Spear for the Courier Gazette. Dream Local Digital’s expansion will bring up to 10 possibly as many as 20 new employees to the downtown location.
Dream Local Digital is a digital marketing agency that helps small businesses market themselves online through social media, content marketing, blogs, web sites, search engines, e-mail and more. They are currently serving customers nationwide through partnerships with media companies and other reseller partners. “Dream Local Digital is committed to creating jobs here in Maine, and this microloan is a critical part of our growth,” shared Shannon Kinney, Founder and Client Success Officer of Dream Local Digital. “Our business is global and we are making it successful here in Rockland. The Knox County Regional Microloan fund is a small capital funding source for companies in the participating communities of Rockland, Rockport, Union, Warren, Thomaston, and Belfast. The member communities are represented on the loan committee. Loans are available for up to $25,000 and require the creation of jobs, some of which must be taken by persons of low to moderate income. The City of Rockland administers the fund program for the participating communities.
