Camden Public library Events May 29 through June 12

Thursday, May 29

Illustrated talk on “Farm Building” by Jen Porter, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, part of the library’s “Let’s Get Growing” series. Porter has a master’s degree in International Environmental Policy from Tufts University, and her more recent projects include building the Turner Farm on North Haven and the Point Lookout Farm in Lincolnville.


Tuesday, June 3

“The Hidden Coast of Maine,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, illustrated talk presented by photographer Joe Devenney and writer Ken Textor on their book recently published by Tilbury House. Joe Devenney has been photographing the Maine coast for thirty-seven years, and Ken Textor has been writing equally as long.


Wednesday, June 4

Midcoast Stroke Support Group regular meeting at the Camden Public Library, 10:00 am, open to all.


Thursday, June 5

“Songwriters’ Coffeehouse” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Led by veteran songwriters David Dodson and John Nicholas, the songwriters’ group has produced original work that spans from rockabilly to singer-songwriter, blues, ballads, love songs, and more. Suggested donation at the door will be $5.


Monday, June 9

Tammy Lee will present “Retrain your Brain to Form Healthy Habits through Yoga and Meditation,” at noon at the Camden Public Library, as part of the Wellness Brown Bag Lunch series co-sponsored by the library and PenBay Regional Chamber of Commerce.


Tuesday, June 10

Regular meeting of the Camden Philosophical Society Reading Group, 4:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all are welcome.

Marilyn Moss Presents “Bill Moss: Fabric Artist & Designer” at the Camden Public Library, 7:00 pm. The talk will draw on Marilyn Moss’s recently published book on Bill Moss, co-founder of Moss Tents and one of America’s most innovative fabric artists and designers, and a true pioneer in the creation of tension fabric structures.


Wednesday, June 11

StoryCorps “Day of Listening” at the Camden Public Library, noon to 6:00 pm. Come listen to interviews recently recorded at the library by StoryCorps.


Thursday, June 12

Michael Lund presents “Frank Sinatra & Tony Bennett: Great Singers of the American Songbook,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Lund adds commentary to the great recordings from Columbia and Capitol Records by these two great balladeers of the American songbook and America’s Tin Pan Alley.
