Camden Public Library, Create A Vision Board For The New Year

Thursday, January 5, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, create a Vision Board for the New Year. A Vision Board is  a visual collage of goals, desires, and intentions for 2017. The idea is to hang it in a prominent location and use it to remind oneself of the goals for the year. The process of creating the collage is very motivating, not to mention a fun creative process! The library will provide all materials needed, but you are welcome to bring pictures that remind you of your goals to include in your collage if you wish. The event is free, but registration is required. Please register by calling the library at 207-236-3440 or by emailing Cayla at cmiller@librarycamden.org.

This event is the first in the library Jumpstart January series of creative, hands-on programs for adults. Why should kids have all the fun? Beat the winter blahs and join the library in some creative fun. The upcoming events are:

Sumi-e Japanese Brush Painting with Frederica Marshall, January 12, 7:00 pm. Join master brush painter Frederica Marshall and learn the precise and beautiful art of painting with ink in the Sumi-e style. There is a $10 materials fee for this workshop and registration is required.

3-D Snowflake making with Miss Amy on Tuesday, January 24 at 7:00 pm. The snowflakes are created with cutting and folding paper, and make beautiful winter decorations for your home. This workshop is free, but registration is required.

Art Lab on Thursday, January 26 at 7:00 pm, join Cayla Miller, Maureen Egan, Linden O’Ryan, and other local artists who will guide participants through experimenting with all kinds of art materials. Come try something you’ve always been curious about, or just do a little process art and see what happens! There is a $10 materials fee, and registration is required.

Wet Felting with Su*Z*q Felts on Tuesday, January 31, at 7:00 pm. Susie Cooke of Su*Z*q Felts will teach participants how to work merino wool into felt bags, with added embellishments. Participants should bring two hand towels, which will get wet, but not ruined. The library will provide plastic bags for transporting your creation home. Space is very limited for this workshop, registration is required, and there is a $10 materials fee.
