“A MIDCOAST JOURNEY WITH WATERCOLORS”

“A MIDCOAST JOURNEY WITH WATERCOLORS” – Opening Reception Saturday, January 7, 2:00 pm.

There will be an exhibit of watercolors by Camden artist Marcia Anderson January 2 -31 at the Camden Library, in the Picker Room.

Ms. Anderson has been a local business woman and is a keyboard musician.  However, she has also been painting watercolors
for many years, especially iconic midcoast Maine and island scenes. She was a summer resident on Swan’s Island, Maine for a
number of years.

She received a Fine Arts degree from the Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston;  thereafter she was awarded
a Fellowship from the American Scandinavian Foundation in N.Y.C., to study Design with the Scandinavian Seminars in Stockholm, Sweden.
Upon her return to Boston she was an Interior Decorator for Sheraton Hotels until she moved to Camden in 1962, and for many
 years she also lived in Rockport.

"Much of the artistic inspiration for my watercolors comes from my observation of Maine’s unique “light." Says Anderson of her work. Join us at the library for a reception welcoming the artist. Prints and originals will be available for sale at the reception and the rest of the month.
