Flying Santa Visits Rockland

Rockland, Maine - A holiday tradition since 1929 New England's Flying Santa visits Rockland on Sunday, November 27th, 2016.  This tradition, started 87 years ago as a way to bring holiday cheer to families manning the many New England lighthouses and lifesaving stations, still providing holiday joy to those who guard our coastline.

Today the Flying Santa arrived in Rockland via helicopter to bring joy to around 14 Coast Guard families gathered at the Maine Lighthouse Museum.
