From Harleys and Triumphs to Hondas and BMWs, visit the Museum to show off your vintage motorcycle. While the theme of this popular show is motorcycles, guests arriving in their pre-1996 vehicles, as well as organized clubs receive free admission to this show and all other Museum (non-auction) events. Clubs are encouraged to call ahead in order to arrange parking. Exhibitor gates open at 8:00 am.
“The Vintage Motorcycle Festival is one of our most popular events of the season and it has become
a tradition for many motorcycle enthusiasts and clubs throughout the region. With exhibitor turnout growing annually, it’s a lively and fun event with some jaw-dropping bikes on display. Last year we had three exceedingly rare Vincent Black Shadow motorcycles show up in a single day, it was remarkable. We routinely hear that it is one of the best annual motorcycle gatherings in the Northeast,” said OHTM Public Relations Director Jenna Lookner.
In addition to assorted vintage motorcycles
of all kinds, an array of family activities will include demonstrations, free
Model T rides and (weather permitting) antique aeroplane demonstrations. Young
children are encouraged to practice their driving skills in the Kids Corral
area, which features pedal cars and pedal planes. Remember, we fly early, so
try to get to the Museum in the morning to see our planes in action.The Museum will showcase its collection of early motorcycles, which includes an 1868 Roper Steam Velocipede, 1901 Steffey Motorbike, 1922 Royal Enfield, 1930 Henderson Streamline Motorcycle, 1931 Indian Four, 1932 Harley Davidson V Motorcycle, 1938 Indian Scout and 1946 Whizzer Motorbike. Our newest acquisition, a 1919 ABC Sopwith Motorcycle, will also be on display. A selection of automobiles from the ground vehicle collection will be driven and demonstrated throughout the weekend and lucky visitors may score a ride in a special auto from the museum’s collection.
Antique aeroplane demonstrations will commence weather permitting; planes included in demonstration may include our 1917 SPAD, our 1923 Fokker C.IVa, our 1941 Boeing Stearman and our 1930 Travel Air Speedwing. Open flightline is scheduled on each afternoon during the show and provides an opportunity for visitors to see, hear and experience the planes close up and to visit with our pilots.
Concessions catered by French and Brawn Catering and Marketplace will be available for purchase throughout the weekend in the Museum’s new Shady Rest Café. The Museum and exhibitions will be open for visitors to enjoy in concert with the outdoor show.
Event admission is $18 for adults. Children under 18, as well as retired and active duty Military, are admitted free every day. Doors open at 9:00 am and the show runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
