Organic Weed Control Methods Subject of Talk at Merryspring‏

Camden/Rockport, Maine - Eric Sideman of MOFGA will lead a presentation of garden weed identification and organic control methods at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, June 10 at 12:00 noon.

By the time June comes around, many weeds will have already established themselves in the home garden. However, not all weeds are treated equal. Sideman’s presentation will focus on identifying the key characteristics of specific weeds and how knowing a little of plant biology can go a long way in keeping the garden weed-free. The talk will have an emphasis on organic weed control methods.

Eric earned his PhD in Botany at Bates College. In 1986 he started at MOFGA, where he continues to work today as a crop advisor and scientist.

This talk is part of the Spring Talk Series at Merryspring, sponsored by The First. Admission to Tuesday Talks is free for Merryspring members, with a nominal fee of $5 for non-members.
