Imagine the Maine Woods National Park Multi-Media Presentation at Camden Public Library

Camden, Maine - Experience an extraordinary journey to one of the last, great, unprotected wilderness areas within the United States, the proposed 3.2 million acre Maine Woods National Park. The award-winning professional photography team of Lee Ann Szelog and Thomas Mark Szelog will personally guide you into the proposed park to experience and learn more about this fragile and priceless ecosystem during a multi-media presentation, featuring the music of legendary folk singer Pete Seeger, at the Camden Public Library in Camden, Maine, on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Come early to enjoy the Szelog’s fine-art photography exhibit, Imagine the Maine Woods National Park that is on display in the Jean Picker Room at the Library through July 30, 2018.

Since 2007 Tom and Lee have been putting a face to the land that is the proposed 3.2 million acre park through their Maine Woods National Park Photo-Documentation Project. The Project provides inspiration, education, and motivation, through photographs and words, to encourage society, nationwide, to work together in the spirit of cooperation to create the Maine Woods National Park for the benefit of nature, wildlife, our planet and all mankind. The Project captures the splendor of the proposed Maine Woods National Park and its riches that deserve protection.

The Szelogs have won numerous local, regional, and national awards for their photographs and have written and photographed two books, the multi-award-winning book, Our Point of View-Fourteen Years at a Maine Lighthouse, and By a Maine River – A Year of Looking Closely. Thomas Mark Szelog has spent his entire life observing, writing and photographing wildlife. He has been a full-time professional photographer for 38 years, specializing in photographing wildlife, nature, and landscapes. He has earned the reputation and is often described as “one of Maine’s most renowned wildlife photographers,” and is a recipient of the Philip Hyde Award, presented annually to a photographer who is working to preserve the condition of the natural environment through the art of photography. Lee Ann is the President of Simply Put, LLC, specializing in presentations on communication, attitude, and human relations. As passionate wildlife advocates, they also work collaboratively, sharing their words and photographs in narrated photography presentations and books to educate and inspire people about the important role our natural world plays in our lives.
