Refreshed St. Joseph Hospital CCU Waiting Room to be Unveiled

Bangor, Maine – A ribbon cutting will take place Friday, August 10 to officially open the recently revitalized St. Joseph Hospital Critical Care Unit Waiting Room. Donations from friends and family of the late Frank J. Soucy Jr. as well as in-kind donations from local businesses made the project possible.

“The family was so moved by the love and care Mr. Soucy received from the CCU nurses that they felt compelled to deliver a gesture of love in return,” said Kassie Zeigler, Executive Director of Community Networks and Foundation for St. Joseph Healthcare.

With input from the family, the waiting room has been refreshed with a cool and calming color palette, new lighting, wood-like flooring, a flat-screen television and granite-topped coffee bar. The room is intended for use by those waiting to hear news of a patient in the Critical Care Unit, and includes comfortable new furniture for up to 10 visitors to rest while awaiting news of their loved one. A custom-built coffee table is topped with granite donated by Stone Masters of Bangor.

Father Roland Nadeau will bless the room and the family will cut the ribbon on Friday, August 10 at 11 a.m. Friends of St. Joseph and members of the public are all welcome to attend.
