...VERY COLD AND WINDY CONDITIONS THROUGH TONIGHT...

...SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL POSSIBLE TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY...

.Very cold temperatures will combine with strong winds to produce
dangerously cold wind chill values through Sunday morning.

An strong low pressure system will track up the Northeast coast
on Tuesday and will spread heavy snow into Maine and New Hampshire
Tuesday into Wednesday. There is still a good amount of
uncertainty on the track of the storm which could cause large
changes in snowfall forecasts, but at this time there is the
potential for several inches of snow across the entire region.

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a Winter Storm
Watch...which is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through
Wednesday afternoon.

* HAZARD TYPES...Very cold wind chill values through Sunday
  morning and the potential for heavy snowfall Tuesday and
  Wednesday.

* WIND CHILL...As low as 29 below zero through Sunday morning.

* ACCUMULATIONS...Greater than 6 inches of snow is possible
  Tuesday into Wednesday.

* TIMING...Cold wind chills continue through Sunday morning. Heavy
  snow is expected Tuesday into Wednesday.

* TEMPERATURES...As cold as 5 below zero Sunday morning. It will
  be warmer during the snowfall, generally in the 20s to low 30s.

* WINDS...Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph
  through Sunday morning. On Tuesday expect northeast winds 15 to
  25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

* IMPACTS...The combination of very cold temperatures and strong
  winds will make it feel much colder. Frostbite will occur very
  quickly on any exposed skin. Potentially heavy snow next week
  may lead to dangerous travel conditions.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
If you must venture outdoors...make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow...sleet...or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
