The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for snow and blowing snow...which is in effect from 1 PM
Tuesday to noon EDT Wednesday. This upgrades to prior Winter
Storm Watch.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...9 to 16 inches...with the lower accumulations
  along the coast.

* LOCATIONS...East Central Maine...Upper Penobscot Valley...
Bangor metropolitan area...and Downeast Maine.

* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow and blowing snow. Snow may mix with sleet
  and rain along the immediate coast Tuesday night

* TIMING...Noon time Tuesday through noon time Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Heavy snow and strong winds will create very hazardous
  traveling conditions. Occasional blowing and drifting snow will
  cause near whiteout conditions at times. Strong winds may will
  lead to blowing snow...reduced visibility...and possible power
  outages.

* WINDS...Northeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* VISIBILITIES...one quarter mile or less at times.

* TEMPERATURES...In the mid 20s to lower 30s.

* HAZARD TYPES...Heavy snow and blowing snow.

* TIMING...Tuesday late afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Heavy snow and strong winds will create very hazardous
  traveling conditions. Occasional blowing and drifting snow will
  cause near whiteout conditions at times. Strong winds may will
  lead to blowing snow...reduced visibility...and possible power
  outages.
