BREAKING: Maine State Police, Liberty, Washington Fire Department On Scene Of Truck VS Tanker Head On

UPDATE 3:40pm State Police say the driver of a pickup was killed instantly this afternoon when his truck veered into the path of an oil tanker truck on Route 3 in Liberty. The crash took place near the intersection of the Marshall Shore Road. The tanker truck driver attempted to avoid the head on collision.  The driver of the big rig was not injured.  The oil truck, owned by H L Bouchard, ended up on its side in a grassy bog and Troopers say no oil has leaked.  The crash site is near Lake St. George State Park and Route 3 traffic is being diverted around the crash site utilizing side roads.

UPDATE 3:00pm According to Maine State Police, State Police say one person has been killed in the collision of a passenger vehicle and oil truck on Route 3 in Liberty.  Traffic near the crash site is being detoured onto the Boynton Road.  Troopers say traffic will be diverted around the crash site for the remainder of the afternoon.

BREAKING....Liberty, Maine - Maine State Police, Libery and Washington Fire Departments are on scene of a RT 3 truck vs tanker head on crash according to Waldo County Dispatch in Liberty, Maine on Monday, March 6th, 2017 around 13:51hrs.

No confirmed word on injuries.

RT 3 is shutdown in the area of the crash.
