Rockport-based Maureen Egan is an artist, writer, and elder caregiver who will speak at the Camden Public Library on Saturday, February 11 at 4:00 pm. She is fascinated by how humans adapt, regroup, and grow in adversity – especially in how creativity and openness influence the process. She has just completed a four-year book project called The Light from Here, a story that includes her art, and which chronicles her passage through anxiety, a breast cancer diagnosis, and healing. She will describe her artistic journey, including the steps in making the book, as well as read the opening pages of her story. The afternoon will include a book signing and sale of notecards of Maureen’s art.
