“Thirteen Days” Screens at The Grand

Ellsworth, Maine - The Grand’s film program continues on Friday, November 22nd at 7 pm with a screening of Thirteen Days in honor of President John F. Kennedy on the 50th anniversary of his death. Tickets are available at The Grand box office (667-9500) or online at www.grandonline.org.  General Admission is $7, Senior/Student admissions are $6 and Grand Member admissions are $5.

Director Roger Donaldson teams up with star Kevin Costner for another political thriller (after their 1987 pairing, No Way Out), only this time with a film based on the actual events surrounding the Cuban missile crisis of 1962. After President John F. Kennedy (Bruce Greenwood) is shown photographs from a spy plane detailing the presence of missiles in Cuba capable of obliterating massive areas of the U.S., he must immediately decide the most effective course of action for the country. With the aid of best friend and special assistant Kenny O'Donnell (Kevin Costner) and brother Robert (Steven Culp), the President must avoid a dire chain of events. With Dylan Baker and Ed Lauter.

The film program continues at The Grand with a holiday screening of the MGM musical classic that brought us “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”- Meet Me in St. Louis (starring Judy Garland and Margaret O’Brien) showing daily at 1 pm from Tuesday, December 17th through Friday December 20th for only $5 per person!
