Biologist Talks About Black Bears‏

Camden/Rockport, Maine - Wildlife Biologist Randy Cross will lead a presentation on Maine Black Bears at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, April 2 at 12:00 noon.

Cross will explain his work researching black bears, spending his winters visiting black bear dens across the state. He will also cover the basics on black bear natural history, behavior, hibernation, and issues currently facing bears in Maine.

Cross has been working with black bears through Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and the Wildlife Research Foundation for over 30 years. A native of Waldo, Maine, Cross graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in wildlife science in 1980.

This talk is part of Merryspring's 2013 Winter Talk Series, co-sponsored by The First and Allen Insurance and Financial.

Admission is free for Merryspring members, with a nominal fee of $5 for non-members.
