Alice Limoges Trio Concert in the Camden Amphitheatre

The Alice Limoges Trio will be performing an evening concert in the Camden Amphitheatre on Thursday, August 16, at 7:00. The free concert is part of the library’s “A Renascence Summer” generously supported by The First Bancorp. The trio is comprised of Alice Limoges on guitar and vocals, Paul Thiebault on bass, and Dickie Hollis on drums. Bring blankets or chairs for comfortable seating.

Hailing from Rockport, Maine, Alice Limoges produced her first CD, Not Gonna Fall Asleep Tonight, while still in high school. Music has always been an integral part of Limoges’ life. From dancing around to the Beatles while spring cleaning to belting her heart out while performing with her local community theatre, scarce were the moments when music wasn’t pouring out of her. When a grade school music teacher got her to pick up the guitar, Limoges combined her joys of singing and writing and began crafting her own original music. Soon, she was playing gigs at local coffee houses, restaurants, and charities. The result was her debut album, Not Gonna Fall Asleep Tonight. A review of the album in the Portland Press Herald called it “an impressive record even before her teenage status is considered.” The debut album’s originals were inspired by a combination of literature, jazz standards, and personal experiences, all tied together by a solid band, the occasional ukulele, and Limoges’ strong voice. Alice played this year’s Belfast Free Range festival and has become a regular performer at Rock City, Slipway, Zoot Coffee, and many others and, despite her young age, has played everything from birthday parties to art gallery openings.
The Trio features talented Hallowell musicians Paul Thiebault on bass and Dickie Hollis on drums, who play on Alice’s upcoming album, “Suns and Moons,” which can be sampled on her Reverbnation page (reverbnation.com/alicelimoges).
